The Observation Series sprang to life seven years ago and continues to grow. In this digital art series, Rios combines original photography with donated X-rays and MRIs, resulting in pieces that are as deeply personal-each piece is created with an effort to find understanding and acceptance in the world around her-as they are universal; Rios invites viewers to take their own physical, psychological, and emotional journeys in an attempt to explore life's internalized longings. These limited edition fine art prints are collected by people across the country.

Jennifer Moore, a Chicago native, is a film/emulsion based and digital photographer. She holds a BA in Art History and Photography and a Masters in Photography from Governors State University. As a photo artist, Jennifer's images span in content and printing techniques. Her goal is to capture more than just an image on a piece of paper, Moore desires to share with her audience vision, emotion and moment. Moore has regularly showed her work and has won numerous awards. Jennifer is an Associate Professor of Photography at the Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago.

Our Members are comprised of a diverse group of talented artists. These artists are hand selected by owner/artist Robin Monique Rios and range from emerging - established. "It has always been my mission to mentor and inspire and what better way than to put together an amazing group of artists from all walks of life and of varying experience. I am working on my eighth year of being in the gallery business; I am proud of all I have accomplished over the years and I look forward to what lies ahead. Our group isn't just a gallery of artists; it is a family of artists."

Charles Heppner: New Series- tin soldiers

The label tin soldier is in reference to the song “One Tin Soldier” from the movie “Billy Jack”. The song is about the value of world peace—it is the greatest treasure. Heppner’s tin soldiers are representative of women, who work silently, tirelessly in the banal actions of everyday life. They have lost identities except for their first name. Their actions and appearances are lost or twisted. Remnants of writing smudged on their bodies suggests the hidden history of each. They are truly some of the soldiers for peace on earth. Charles Heppner is a multi-disciplined artist living in the South Chicago neighborhood in one of the greenest home in Chicago. He is happy to be back showing with 4Art.

California Artist Alessandra Posada; Every painting I create is an illustrated chapter of a life story. Opposite concepts and personal representations of universal archetypes are the main subjects of my paintings. I believe death and life, the reality and fantasy, the myth and the fact, welcoming and farewell, simplicity and complexity, joy and sadness share the reality of every story. I believe the irony is what our history as a society and as individuals is greatly made of and I enjoy creating the symbols to describe it. Organic tissues and other forms of matter are an inspiration to design these fragments of life.

Michelle-Renee Perkins is a mixed media painter. Through my work, I feel that I am communicating to my ancestors whether by means of materials or subject matter. There are materials that have personal and or historical relevance that become tools, which speak to my African-American and Native-American past. I do not place limitations on the materials that I work with, but I feel that the struggle of those that have gone before me involved the use and reuse of natural, found, made and altered objects. Therefore, by using items such as soil, clothing, flowers, bones, roots, photographs, hair, and recycled found objects, I am reinforcing my themes through the use of materials. At the same time, I am addressing the history and spirituality of objects and images that I generate.

The Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago (ILIAC) Student Photographic Society will exhibit works from twelve amazing photographers. The Students aspire to create a non-competitive atmosphere in which students can bridge connections to their professional future through involvement outside of the classroom. We strive to provide a forum for student discussion regarding the photography industry; jobs and internships; personal enrichment; school, regional, national and international issues. The goal of SPS ILIAC is to create a framework that provides a vehicle to incubate, collaborate, network, educate, enhance community, and support the development of future professionals. “Imagine” Dare to imagine a world full of endless possibilities. A world where our dreams become reality and anything is possible. In this series, these images will evoke fantasy, wonder, and the extraordinary. These are pictures made of invented concepts. By projecting contemporary ideas, aesthetics, and experiences through the lens of imagination and dreams, we aim to create a world of endless possibilities. We aim to blur the lines between fantasy and reality. Take a picture, take a journey, dream a little dream and see where it leads you.

Janae Kernes was born in Woodstock, IL on April 1, 1981, yes April fools day! Janae has always had a love for nature and it's beauty. Little did she know that love of nature would turn into a passion for photography. She started out using a one time use camera when she was little. Then as Janae grew older she graduated to a Minolta 35mm film camera. Janae is a self taught photographer. Even though she has never gone to school for photography, Janae is always studying books and talking to seasoned professionals to help guide her along her way. Janae hopes to take an individual on a journey into the picture, to see it not as she does or as anyone else might see it but how you see it personally. "We spend an entire third of our lives sleeping-that's years spent in the dream world, in an entirely different realm, untouched by the crises of our waking lives; all you are left with is your Self, confronting the fabrications of your own mind. If it's only you, with no one else to cloud your thoughts, what would happen if you were able to take full control of your dream life and use it as the sketchbook for the final canvas of your waking life?"

4Art Inc Gallery asks imaginative and innovative artists, of all media, to explore and implore our dreams in Somnambulist.

Somnambulist marks the launch of 4Art's highly anticipated annual curated show, kick-starting in September and overlapping with Chicago Artist's Month in October. The show will take place in the second floor exhibition space of the internationally renowned Zhou B Art Center. The space is 14,000 square feet in size, with 12 feet high ceilings.

4Art is open to a variety of media, including but not limited to: sculpture, graphic and digital art, oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, mixed media, video installation, and performance art.

Sonia Katz is a Chicago-based abstract artist whose work has been exhibited and collected nationwide. Trained as a sculptor, Sonia specializes in creating original collage paintings. Using her dynamic artwork to express her views on nature and the world around her, Sonia paints colorful patterns on Japanese paper, cuts the paper into unique shapes, and pastes them down on heavy watercolor paper. Of her work, Sonia describes, “I am imagining these shapes as real objects having weight and motion. They may balance on one another, float, fall, or combine into structures. The colors and actions of these shapes combine to create a harmony almost like music, to stir emotion in a language without words.”

Sonia was educated at the University of Chicago, where she earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees; at Cambridgeshire Technical College in England; and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She concentrated in sculpture from 1960 to 1979, using stone, plastics, bronze, and steel, and began collage in 1980. Sonia has also taught, written critical reviews, and worked in arts organizations.

The time is finally here! We at 4Art invite all to join us this September as we rejoice in the relocation to the internationally renowned Zhou B. Art Center. Our accompanying entourage of artists will include: Robin Monique Rios, Melissa Kolbusz [wired], Magdalena Lis, Sarah Raskey, Agnieszka Kulon, Sonia Katz, Robert C. Anderson, Angel Silva, and Chantal Philipon Cegede.

Our philosophy of mentoring and empowering artists while engaging art enthusiasts will continue as 4Art recharges itself with new artistic undertakings. This includes a unique venture in installation work by Agnieszka Kulon featuring a live performance of fashionable garments, which will be unveiled at our SEPTEMBER 18th GRAND OPENING SHOW.
